I woke up early to catch the morning glow casted upon the valley and Sangre de Cristo Range. Even after living in Colorado my whole life the alpenglow on the mountains never gets old! I love that up in this area you can see the snow covered peaks peeking out behind the hills. It’s magical! Double magic because my family is from Westcliffe (at the base of the Sangre de Christo mountains). It reminds me of growing up and going to my uncles bison ranch, fishing with my grandpa, and looking up at the mountains as a child - feeling mesmerized.

If you have a chance to get up early to watch the sunrise, I recommend it!
